Antonietta Collins

Antonietta Toni Collins is an Mexican American sportscaster. She hosts SportsNation and is a SportsCenter anchor. She joined ESPN in 2016. joined ESPN. The daughter of TV journalist Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta Collins is bilingual and has been since the age of nine. This skill allowed her to land her first job at Univision, Miami. She could work as a producer for national programs like Nuestra Belleza Latina Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud Primer Impacto. Then, in St. Petersburg, she was recruited by the CBS station as an sports reporter. She moved in 2009 into Rio Grande Valley, Texas to become an investigative reporter for KNVO TV 48 Univision. Spanish channel KNVO TV 48 Univision and Fox2 News. Reporting on stories about trafficking in drugs and immigration on both sides of Mexico-Texas border, she worked as a reporter for newscasts at 5 p.m. Spanish newscast a reporter and later anchor of the 9 p.m. newscast in English and also another reporter for the at 10 p.m. Spanish newscast. Also, she was often required to act as a weather and sports anchor. Later, she was anchor and reporter on Univision's Dallas affiliate Deportes 23 where she was assigned more responsibility. She created pieces for Major League Baseball ALDS ALCS, and World Series as well Dallas Cowboys NBA postseason Finals FC Dallas, and Dallas Stars. Additionally, she was the producer of the local Univision 23 sports program Accion Deportiva Extra on which she also served as anchor. She worked as the sports anchor of Despierta America Deportes morning show. She worked in the same position for Primer Impacto on UniMas Network, and Contacto Deportivo for its magazine show. Antonietta Collins was born and raised in Veracruz Mexico. The city of Mexico City she was conceived on the 22nd November 1985. There is a sister. She is the older sister. In 1992, the couple divorced soon after. In 1995, she remarried Fabio Fajardo who was naval engineer, who passed away in the year 2006 due to kidney cancer. On a trip, Antonietta stayed at her sister's house in Canton Ohio. Her older Collins sibling had recently gotten a new job. Antonietta was about to graduate from high school but already knew what she was going to do. She loved the campus. It also gave her the degree she wanted. After graduation, she went to the university with a media studies major. Mark Bergmann, her professor who was also WRMU's 91.1FM station, where she was employed for a number of years, was an acquaintance. Professor Bergmann encouraged her to have self-confidence and was deeply touched by his love of journalism.
